ABOUT US
Initially a YouTube series by truegunpla in 2017, it has been with you for over 6 years. We believe in simply enjoying our hobbies, whether it's scale modeling, miniatures, toys, wargaming, or anything else. Our unique angle intertwines hobby discussions with mental health.
All three of us grapple with various mental health issues, and we openly share our experiences, both positive and negative, as we navigate these challenges alongside our hobbies. Our community has steadily grown, and we're immensely thankful for the support throughout the years and the continued support.

MEET THEM BOYZ
Brandon is one of those nerdy indoor kids, you know, the type that plays Dungeons and Dragons in your mom's basement. That's right, your mom's basement, because his mom doesn't have one. The D&D scene got Brandon into mini-painting, which eventually escalated to a full-on plastic addiction: Gunpla, mecha, cars, tanks, whatever - gotta build 'em all. Potentially more to come.

JOEL
Joel is a multimedia designer, radio producer, toy painter, and does a bunch of other stuff. He also produces the podcast and a lot of the behind-the-scenes work with The Cutting Mat Podcast. In addition to loving to paint miniatures, plamo, sofubi, and more, Joel also produces music mainly in the phonk and brutal slam genres. He's all about enjoying the hobby for yourself.
Tino is a graphic designer and cartoonist who doesn't know how to chill about stuff he likes. When Gunpla took hold of him, it was really just the beginning. Recently, he's branching out into mini-painting and other scale model endeavors. But, you should seriously talk to him about tokusatsu, Borderlands, and comics.
And he's the cutest little guy in the world (says his wonderful wife, Anna).

TURBODORK
“Originally started in 2018 as one man’s quest to find the perfect metallic purple for his Emperor’s Children, Turbo Dork has now grown from that initial 16 paints on Etsy into a full line of 80 colors distributed around the world! From our humble beginnings as a side hustle at the kitchen table of a Downtown Los Angeles loft to a cross-country move in 2021 to an actual warehouse in Austin, Texas, we have grown quite a bit in our first several years. Despite how much we’ve grown though, we try to maintain a scrappy, ‘can-do’ spirit and strive as a small company to make the best products we can.
With our line of beautiful Metallics and our radical Turbo Shifts, we try to make a palette as colorful as the diverse hobby world we serve. We strive to be a welcoming and inclusive space in the world of hobbies, and one of the most approachable and personable groups of people in the industry. As we look to the future, and the exciting possibilities it holds, we see nothing but opportunities to continue to make our slice of the world as colorful as possible.”
